Sonography of Prostate

A 70 year old man, Nankawan Khan was presented to Jankikund Chikitalaya with chief problem of passing urine including slow or weak urinary stream and frequency more in night, blood in urine, pain in hip and back.

The following four assessments were made on this elderly male patient:

  1. On DRE (Digital Rectal Examination) of the prostate hard nodule with irregular prostatic margin seen. 
  2. PSA study showed very high value 100 ng/ml.
  3. Transabdominalsonography of prostate showed hypoechoic lesion in prostate & altered echotexture.
  4. In X-ray KUB lumburvertibra fused multiple osteosecloraticlesion seen in lumbar, sacral iliac bone.

After clinical, pathological and Radiological assessment CA-prostate was confirmed. The patient was referred to Kamla Nehru Cancer Hospital, Allahabad for further clinical interventions.
