Training for Gov. Para-Medical Ophthalmic Assistants

The Para-Medical Ophthalmic Assistants (PMOAs) are the backbone of preventive blindness programs whether run under the aegis of National Program for Control of Blindness (NPCB) or through various Non Government Organizations (NGOs). The PMOAs working in the government sector can be utilized effectively by providing necessary refresher training in comprehensive eye care management at a standardized eye care facility / centre for excellence. To overcome these barriers NPCB in collaboration with Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya (SNC), Chitrakoot started the PMOA refresher training program from July 2008 and since then more than 500 PMOAs have been trained till date.
